Reader Alexei grew up in the Bay Area and began attending Holy Trinity Cathedral at a young age. Alexei attended the Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Information Sciences and Technology in 2019. After graduating, Alexei spent time working in Pittsburgh as a Cyber Threat Intel Analyst for a bank. In March 2023, Alexei was tonsured and ordained a Reader by Archbishop Melchisedek of Western Pennsylvania.
Out of a desire to serve the Body of Christ, Alexei enrolled in St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in 2023. While in seminary, Alexei gained a deeper appreciation for how the Church brings the love and healing of Christ to all, particularly in the intersection of pastoral care and liturgical services. During his studies, Alexei served as a chapel sacristan, led the St Ambrose Society as president, and completed a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education while serving as a hospital chaplain. In 2026, Alexei earned a Master of Divinity from St Vladimir’s, graduating summa cum laude. Reader Alexei is excited to be a part of the Holy Trinity pastoral team, and looks forward to accompanying those coming to know Christ in the Orthodox Church, wherever they are on their journey.
